Attention, Apple users: Samsung will give you free earbuds if you switch to a foldable Galaxy phone

TL;DR: You'll get a free pair of Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 and up to $700 in credits when you trade in an iOS device for the new Samsung Galaxy Fold 4 or Galaxy Flip 4 (starting at $899.99 and $299.99 as part of the deal, respectively).

Would you break up with Apple on the eve of the iPhone 14 launch for a free pair of (very good) earbuds? If so, Samsung wants to make you a deal.

As of Aug. 29, the electronics giant is giving iOS users a free pair of Galaxy Buds 2 when they trade in an iPhone or iPad for a new Galaxy Fold 4 or Galaxy Flip 4. (Both are newly crowned Mashable's Choice Award winners, mind you.) Prices start as low as $899.99 and $299.99 for their respective base models, depending on the Apple device you're giving up and whether it's in decent condition.

Featuring a book-like design, the Galaxy Fold 4 is basically a "high-quality Android smartphone that can transform into a high-quality Android tablet with hardly any effort," said Mashable tech reporter Alex Perry. It's a long-lasting multitasking machine that's light enough to use one-handed, with a 7.6-inch inner display and a 6.2-inch outer display (which both clock in at 120Hz), plus a Windows-style taskbar and a triple-camera setup. It comes in four colors — Graygreen, Phantom Black, Beige, and an online-exclusive Burgundy — and starts at 256GB of storage.

Meanwhile, the Galaxy Flip 4 has a clamshell design that feels like a callback to the days of ye olde Motorola Razr and LG 8700 Shine. A fun cover display with useful widget features, touchpad capabilities ("Flex Mode"), and hands-free photo and video capture ("Flex Cam") combine forces to make it "the ultimate Gen Z influencer phone" and "the most compelling compact foldable yet," to quote Mashable tech reporter Cecily Mauran. You can take your pick from four finishes (Graphite, Blue, Pink Gold, and a playful Bora Purple) and three storage capacities, starting at 128GB.

For their part, last year's Galaxy Buds 2 "put AirPods to shame," Perry wrote in his review: Their egg-shaped design is super comfortable, they offer a slew of customization options through the Android app, their noise cancellation is top-tier, and they come in a bunch of pretty colors. They normally retail for $150, but you'll pay zilch as part of Samsung's "ditch Apple" deal.
